How to Remove WSClient.DLL Error Message in Windows 10

In Windows 10 Preview Build 11099, we encountered an error message that pops up sometimes after booting up our computers, stating “Error in wsclient.dll Missing entry: RefreshBannedAppsList”.

A little annoying, I thought, so if you too want to get rid of the WSClient.DLL error, just do this:

  1. Click the Windows start icon or search icon and type in (search for) “Task Scheduler”.
  2. Launch the Task Scheduler desktop app, then expand “Task Scheduler Library” in the left-hand pane.
  3. Expand further to “Microsoft”, then “Windows” and finally “WS” at the bottom.
  4. In the middle (main) part, you should now see a few tasks. Right-click the one named “WSRefreshBannedAppsListTask” and click “Disable”.
  5. Problem solved.
